Jennifer Vermeer | Chief Executive Officer
Jennifer is the Chief Executive Officer for the University of Iowa Health Alliance. In this role, she is leading efforts to implement population health management strategies, value-based contracting, and clinical integration to improve quality outcomes and lower costs for the UIHA Accountable Care Organization. Jennifer is also the Assistant Vice President for Health Policy and Population Health for University of Iowa Health Care, where she is responsible for state and federal health policy for UI Health Care. Prior to her roles with UIHA and UI Health Care, she was the Director of the Iowa Medicaid Program, where she led health delivery system reform initiatives, such as implementing the Iowa Health and Wellness Plan, multi-payor Accountable Care Organizations, and Health Homes. Jennifer has a Master’s of Public Administration degree from the University of Arizona and a Master’s of Health Delivery from Dartmouth College.
William Langley, MD | Chief Population Health Officer
Bill Langley, MD, is the Chief Population Health Officer for University of Iowa Health Alliance ACO. As part of the UIHA team, he works on strategies to improve the quality and lower the cost of care for covered populations. Before coming to UIHA, Dr. Langley practiced family medicine for over 25 years in eastern Iowa, helped form a physician-owned PPO, led a 150-physician practice, and was the executive director of another ACO.
Gina Krueger | Director of Operations
Gina Krueger is the Director of Operations for the University of Iowa Health Alliance. In this role she leads efforts around strategic planning and oversees implementation of the strategic and operational plans. Additionally, she works with key provider members to implement components of these plans. Prior to this role, Gina worked six years at Wellmark and was involved in a number of initiatives focused on creating a sustainable health care system in Iowa and South Dakota. Gina has a Master’s of Public Health in Epidemiology.
Andrew Behan | Director of Payor and Provider Engagement
As the Director of Payor and Provider Engagement, Andrew is responsible for developing, negotiating and managing value-based contracts with insurance carriers, growing and managing the UIHA ACO network, and leading strategies to complement the existing provider network with strategic partnerships across the care continuum. He is also responsible for collaborating with UIHA clinical leadership to design strategies aimed at increasing performance within our provider network to ensure the success of value-based contracts. Prior to his current role, he was the Chief Quality and Patient Safety Officer for Mercy Health-Kentucky Market. Andrew has a Master’s of Science in Epidemiology.
Bonnie Braatz | Program Manager
Bonnie is responsible for managing the operations, monitoring performance and providing compliance oversight for the Medicare Shared Savings Program. She serves as a liaison between UIHA and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), and is also a content expert on MACRA/MIPS reporting. Bonnie has over 25 years of experience in the health care industry in areas including clinical care, health management, NCQA accreditation, process improvement, and IT system implementations. Bonnie has a Master’s of Public Administration degree and Six Sigma Black Belt and Lean Certifications.
Laura Lohmeier | Marketing & Communications Manager
Laura is responsible for the development and implementation of marketing and communications strategies for University of Iowa Health Alliance. Laura works with internal and external audiences to build the brand and reputation of University of Health Alliance through a variety of tactics to support organizational goals and objectives. Laura has an MBA in marketing and over ten years of health care marketing experience with multiple health systems in Iowa.
Maggie Eischeid | Program Coordinator
Maggie Eischeid is the Program Coordinator for the University of Iowa Health Alliance. In this role, she coordinates the various boards, councils and committees that make up UIHA. She also provides administrative support to Jennifer Vermeer, CEO of the University of Iowa Health Alliance. Prior to her current role, Maggie served as the assistant to Jennifer while she was the Medicaid Director for the state of Iowa.
